Dunedin. 6th February. For the year 1898 the Consolidated mine, Macetown, crushed 5126 tons ore for a i. return of 27870z gold, yahaed at £11,216. The Westralia and New Zealand Gold Explorers, Limited, crushed 489 tons, and obtained 281oz valued at £1167. Auckland, 4th February. During the past month 1200 tons of ore were treated by the Taram Creek Company, which yielded bullion worth £1670, an increase of £350 upon the previous month's output. The Waiotahi Company has completed a crushing of 75 tons of ore for 12Ooz. Napieb, This Day. The Daily Telegraph's special correspondent at Taupo wires that Mr. M'Kay, Government Geologist, has just returned from a prospecting tour at Henomai. Gold was found almost everywhere, but not ia payable quantities. Rbefton, 6th February. The return from the Progress Mines (Limited) for January is 14650z from 3400 tons, valued at £6081.
