AN AUCKLANDER'S MURDEROUS INVENTION.
Auckland, This Day. Au Aucklander has offered the American Consul a new Avar invention, Avhich, he states, can be applied to any expiosive shell, increasing its explosive power a hundredfold. He is prepared to go to Washington by the next mail boat to arrange ivitli the American Government for the manufacture of these shells, and place his services generally at the
disposal of the Government during the Avar, leaving the remuneration to the generosity of the Government. THE RISING PRICE OF KEROSENE. The price of kerosene has advanced in Wellington from 9s 4d per case to 12s, and a prominent merchant informs us that there is every probability of a further rise.
