[by telegbaph.— own correspondent.] Cartebton, This Day. The Taratahi-Carterton Road Board has decided to appoint an engineer who shall also undertake the clerical duties. This will necessitate re-organising the staff, aud at a special meeting of the Board held yesterday the following resolution was passed: — " That whilst recognising the many valued services rendered by Mr. Wolters and Mr. Darroch (clerk and road overseer respectivety), three months' notice be 'given them that their services are no longer required, as it is absolutely necessary to Lave a. frees hand in the appointment of an engineer." Mastebton, This Day. At the annual meeting of the parishioners of St. Matthew's Church last night Mr. F. E. Moore was re-elected parishoners' churchwarden and Mr. R. Brown re-appointed incumbent's churchwarden. The Rev. A, C. Yorke was eulogised for his work.
