NEW ZEALAND TRADE TO WESTRALIA.
♦ [PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Melboubne, 7th December. The Argus says that an unwelcome development is occurring in connection with trade between New Zealand and West Australia. The Unron Steam Ship Company is carrying produce from New Zealand to Sydney at lower rates than to Melbourne, while the lines trading from Sj'dney and Melbourne to Westralia are charging the same rates from both ports. The result is thrtt produce can be exported from New Zealand to West Australia more cheaply vid Sydney than by Melbourne, and the latter is thus losing both trade and mercantile prestige.
