The Legislative Council has amended the Alien Bill by extending the clause making three yoars' residence in the colonies the condition of naturalisation, so that it shall apply to residence in Australasia. ' While at the Federal Council the Premier (Mr. Reid) will consult tho representatives of the other colonies about Mr. Chamberlain's invitation to join with Great Britain in making a display at the Paris Exhibition in 1900.
