ARMED POLICEMEN. A FUGITIVE FIRED UPON.
[PBBBS ASSOCIATION. I Mblboubnb, 27th August-. Numerous extensive robberies have occurred in tbe suburbs lately. A large consignment of goods taken from a store at Richmond was found in an empty bouse at Colliugwood. The polioe remained watching it all night, until at length three men arrived, and commenced to remove the goods, and the police pounocd on them. One named Gaffney, in attempting to escape, was shot by the police* in the shoulder, and lies in a oritioal condition. The otherß, two well-known oriminals, were captured.
