A RARE WBALE.
(Our Own Correspondent.) ; Pohto (Kaipaea Heads), Th:s Dat. Testerday morning an extremely rare specimen of the whale speoiea oame ashore at the North Head, Kaipara, about two miles below the lighthousn. It is what is known I as the goosebill, and so far as is known here there is only one other specimen in the colony, and that is one seonred some 20 years 'aso and now iv the Wellington Museum. This one ia about 14 feet long. It is hoped the authorities of the looal museum will secure it.
