HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.
THI BANK OF NSW ZEALAND. Mr. Buchanan, as Chairman of tbe Bank of New Zealand Select Committee, presented the interim report to the effe ct that the Committee ahould be ecoret. Dr. Newman asked if the House was to have any information with regard to it at all. The Premier moved 'to add the names of Messrs Finkerton, Fraser, and Millar. Mr. J. W. Kelly aike'd whether the names of Messrs. B. Thompson and Green would be added also. Otherwise he would oppote the addition. Mr. W. Kelly objected to there being so many Otago members on tbe Committee. The Premier Biid the Committee, after going into tbe matter fully, had beon^unanimously of opinion that the enquiry must be secret if there was to be full investigation, otherwise there would be restraint on their proceedings. To make it secret meant the exclusion of all but the committee and witnesses. The committee, in bringing down its report, might alßo bring down evidenoe to warrant; ifci finding. ILeftßitting.J
