Ihe weather was fine overhead, but Lancaster Park was very sloppy. Linwood had the advantage of a strong S.W. wind in the first spell, and after some Blow play in tho Potone qnarter Sf. O'Brien lost a fice chance of scoring, while Ward made a good shot at goal from a penalty kick. On resuming Baumber (Petone) made a strong run, and passed to JDe Joux, who out-paced all his opponents, bnt the hoavy going prevented him from scoring, he being collnrod from behind. Dnring the remainder of the Epell Borne good work was douo by M'Kenzie, Pringle, Kobsrts, and Baumber for Petone, F. O'Brien and Price showing up for Linwood. The second spell was hotly contested, both teams nearly sooring on several occasions. The game ended in a draw, neither team having been able to scoro. Tho Linwood men exhibited good passing in the first spell. Price and F. O'Brien were the pick of tho backs, Fanning and Kerr being tho best of an even lot of forwards.
