NOTES ON THE NEW SOUTH WALES PLAY.

Auckland, This Day. The Star says :— Since their lost visit the New South Waleß footballers have greatly improved in their knowledge of the game. Their principal advancement was seen in their passing tactios. The visitors made a serioun error in only playing six pack forwards, for to form a scrum which should possess the necessary supporting power it requires seven players. This has boon proved repeatedly. The New South Welshmen should reotify this mistake for their future contests. We hear the visitors can placo a stronger team in tbo field that tho fifteen whioh represented them against Anokland, and we believe their campaign in New Zealand will be more successful than those of tho two previous New South Wales teams which have invaded Maoriland. Of their backs, Dibbs, Riley, Galloway, and Surman were the most useful, while Carson, Sawyer, Wiburd, and -Lane are worthy of notice among the forwards.
