FIRE IN A DRUG STORE.
♦ !Br Tklxgbajpu. 1 i united pkjcßs association. i Auckland, Thib Dat. A firo broke out in Kempthorne, Prosser & po.'s drug store, Wyndhain-streot, early this morning, originating in the cellar. The brigade suppressed the outbreak after considerable trouble, the chief damage dono being with water. The fire is supposed to havo been caused through the spontaneous combustion of acids. The insurances total £12,500, made up as follows:— National, £3500; Sonth British, £2000; Norwich Union, £2000; Alliance, £1000; Victoria, £2000; New Zealand, £1000 ; Phoenix, £1000. The damage is ostimated at several hundred pounds.
