Ho oxpreaned the hope of soon seeing a New Zealand team visiting the Old Country. The Minister for Education arrived last night from Okoroiri. He goes to the conntry on departmental business, returning to Auckland in a fortnight. The City Council has resolved that the cost of the licensing election (.£181) was exoessire, and it will apply to the Colonial Secretary for a refund. Some strong comments were made during the discussion. Christchubch. This Day. At the Magistrate's Court yesterday, Edward Farkerson, acoountant of the late firm of Harper & Co., charged with embezzling sums amounting to .£lO5O, was further remanded till Wednesday next.
