MAYORAL ELECTIONS.
WELLINGTON. Only a small amount of interest was manifested in yesterday'B election of a Mayor for the City. Thero were two candidates, viz., Messrs. A. de B. Brandon and C. -F. Worth, and the polling, which took place at the Exchange Hall, resulted in a decided victory for the former. Tho Retnrning Officer was Mr. James Ames, who was assisted by Messrs. H. Thomas, R. H. Chinchen, R. Hill, Joseph Amos, and H. C. Millward Mr. Pilcher was scrutineer for Mr. Worth. At 20. minutes to 7 the result was deolared to be as follows : — 8rand0n ...... . 1191 Worth ... . 595 Majority for Brandon . r <99 Informal votes 1 KARORI. The eleotion at Karori resulted thus :—: — S. Lancaster . * 10ft J. B. Tarr 59 Sir. Lancaster was therefore re-eleoted. PETONE. Tho result of the polling at Petono was the re-eleotion of Mr. R. C.
