* The monthly meeting of the Goneral Conimiltec of tho Wellington Agricultural and Q Pastoral Association >vas held to-day, Mr. G. H . Scales in the chaiv. Mr. T. Miehie, M.K.C.V.S., wrolo accepting an invitation to bocomo honorary veterinary surgeon to tho Society. Mr. J. Stuckcy, of Kancituniau, wroto expressing an objection to the new system of judging by points. Uho Sec-otary stated that he had informed l'i\ Sluckcy that it was only inteu-leil to jncl^o tho blood horses "] on tlio principle, iind not the whole of tho -1 exhibits. o Ou the motion of Mr. F. Kradey, seconded tl by Mr. 11. il. Beethdin, Mr. L J. Nathan si was elected a member of tho committee, in place of Mr. Cruicksbank, resigned Mr. Coloman Phillips' motion that a conference of Agricultural Socioty delegates should be held in Welb'ngton in July next, was deferred for a month. Tho Secretary reported that Messrs. Thompson & Co , of Leith, had given a valuablo shield, which ho had allocated, subject to approval, to the competitor petting the most points in horses. Messrs. Bidwill Bros, had promised a challenge cup, valued at from i! 10 to w£ls, and it had been FUggestcd that it should be given for Bhorthorns, Ayrshires, and Alderneys. It was decided that Messrs. Bidwill's prize should be for all cattle except fat cattle. Mr. Wm. lorns, of Mastorton, was eleoted a member of the Association. | Left sitting. |
