[Our Own Correspondent.) Palmerston NofiTH, 27th October. The Rev. Mr. Knipe, of the Maryborough Church, Queensland, officiates in the Presbyterian Church here on Sunday. Mr. Habbard's olaim against the Borough Council is made up as follow :—£loo: — £100 premium for the beat scheme, .£BOO commission, and J8320 for alleged use of his scheme for the present contract. Mr. Ward, E.M. of this district, is to be relieved of the Woodviile duties, Captain Preece performing them. Seven bales of wool were sent away from Tokomaru to-day. M. Pitany, who has been resident in this district some years, leaves for Wellington this week, having been appointed private secretary to the French Consul, Count Jouffray d'Abb&ns. M. Pitany has been very popnlar here.
