The Marlborough Gold Fields.
[By Tblbqeaph.l (Our Own Correspondent.) Havelock, This Dat. The tenders for tracks at Mahakipawa were opened on Satnrday, and have been wired off to the Minister of Mines. It is stated that they are below the estimate, so no delay need be expected. There were only two tenders for contracts Nos. 2 and 4, and no tender at all for No. 3. A large number of-wonld-be tenderers went over the ground and saw the plans. This matter either shows a dearth of money to find the necessary deposit, or a scarcity of labour. The work of the field is proceeding most satisfactorily in the majority of the olaitns, operations being carried ont in a thoroughly systematic manner.
