Tho roßult of tho 43 hours' walking match, which closed on Saturday night, was— Edwards, 192 miles 1C laps, and Soott 191 miles 15 laps. Edwards therefore won by a mile and a lap, 22 of which go to the mile. Daring the hist two hoars the hall was crowded, about 3000 being present. The excitement increased as the finish approached. Edwards occasionally Bpurtod and passed Soott, who generally maintained his usual steady pace, though towards the end of the last hour Soott Tory gamely responded to his opponent's ohaflenge and baffled Edwards' efforts to pass him in the last few ronnds. If anything, Scott appeared to be the favourite with the publio, who, though they cheered Edwards as he gradually inoroased his lead, were more vooiferous when Scott appeared to gain any advantage. At tho conclusion of tho matoh there were lond calls for Edwards and Soott, but neither responded, and Mr. Seymour said the competitors were too tired to appear, and thanked the publio for their attendance.
