Advices from New Guinea state that an attack had been made on the mission by a large number of hostile natives in one hundred and eighteen canoes. Friendly natives persuaded them to retire. New Zealand oats, 2s 10J to 3s; brandy, kerosene, sugar, rice, and candles unchanged. Sailed — Hero, for Auckland; Polsgium, from Cooktown for Sydney.
