PIGEON TROPHY SHOOT,
WON BY W. H. WINCHESTER
For a trophy donated by Mr E. Burgess, senr., the Ellesmere Gun Club held a pigeon shoot on its ground at Leeston on Saturday. Fine weather prevailed, but the attendance was smaller than usual. The trophy shoot was at eight birds, and the winner was W. H. Winchester, who scored a possible. First and second money in the sweep was divided by L. W. Prosser and F. L. Graham, each with seven kills. The aetailed scores were as follows:— W. H. Winchester (23yds.) 11122211 8 L. W. Prosser (21yds.) 11112011 7 L. F. Graham (24yds.) 21201211 7 W. J. Doyle (22yds.) 01011121 ..' 6 J. Winchester (23yds.) 12121001. 6 L. Chambers (21yds.) 01100111 . 5 E. A. Washbourne (27yds.) 01110010 4 There were six competitors in a six-bird sweep, W. H. Winchester winning again with a possible, while L. W. Prosser and E. A. Washbourne, each with five-on, divided second and third money.
Ten competed in a clay sweep of six birds, F. L. Graham winning with all-on.
