MEETINGS FOR MEN
STIMULATE AND CHALLENGE
THINKING.
TO BE HELD AT SOUTHBRIDGE,
Hendrick van Loon, the distinguished Dutch-American historian, recently said that in the midst of the greatest revolution the world has ever seen, there is only one unpardonable sin—indifference. "Think or perish is no less important than work or starve."
A similar sentiment has b"een expressed by the famous German scholar, musician, physician and missionary who says that the sin which lies at the basis of the break-up of the modern world is the sin of refusing to think.
With these thoughts in mind, the men of the Presbyterian Church of Southbridge have planned a series or' meetings when a free and easy discussion will follow the addresses. Three well-known Christchurch citizens are introducing the discussions on the last Friday in the ensuing three months. This coming Friday, Mr V. H. French, the superintendent of the Presbyterian Social Service Association, who has had first-hand experience with the ravages of unemployment, and who was wounded in the War, should deal with, these two major problems of the day in a i realistic way.
The meetings are for the men of the district. Supper will be served at a social hour after the address.
