The Leeston Convent school resumes after the Easter vacation, on Monday. Mr D. McDonnld, a well known Lees ton resident, was taken to the Chri;>l church Hospital on Tuesday. Under the Noxious Weeds Act, IJO3 where land ,abuts upon a road, the boundaries of such land are, for • 1;; purposes of that Act relating to *Ie clearing of noxious weeds, deemed 10 extend to the centre of the road. T^.t .Act is enforced--by.Government inspec tors, and where an occupier or owner is called upon under the Act to remove noxious weeds from his land, he rims; remove them-also from half the will!? of any road on which his land abuts.
