MEETING
All arrangements for the Ellesnr. v County Trotting Club's annual i- : iee meeting, which takes place to-day, are •jow complete, and given fine weather the meeting is likely to be most successtul. There are good fields engaged in rearly all the events, nianj1" of fur 1-orses accepted for being well 'knowiiiigh class performers. The first race rill start at 12.30. A special tniir conveying passengers, and horses wii leave Christchurch at 9 a.m. and leave Lcestou this evening at 6.25. There svi'l be luncheon and publican's booths 0.-----the ground and the Pipe and Brass flands will provide music. The Ellesmere > domain has presented a busy appearance lately in view of tlio rotting 'meeting. Quite a, number of local owners have horses engaged and in most eases solid work has.been done. Mr E. Fell's Dragoon Junior has been pleasing his trainer and is expected to. race well. The president hopes to bo able to lead in a winner. In the Bracelet Handicap Irish Eyes will be dri :rji iby G.
