Mr J. J- Clark (ex-mayor of Dunedin) and Mrs Clark have been spending a short holiday in Clyde. Mr Clark has not yet made any announcement regarding his intentions at the forthcoming elections, but he will probably be found carrying the Reform banner against Mr Munro. ••■**• Mr E. Waddell, with his wife and little daughter, have been on a visit to Clyde, renewing old associations. Our old friend Eddie is the head of the Kandar Tea Coy, with headquarters at Dunedin. 0 • • • The removal of Constable (nowSergt.) W- Gilligan, from Roxburgh, means a decided loss to the Bowling club there. Last year he was champion of champions while Mrs Gilligan was a leading light in the Ladies club. Prior to their departure they were entertained at a social evening when they were the recipients of handsome presents from their bowling friends. #■•••• At S- Aidans church, Alexandra on '1 uesday last, Miss MWilson, (daughter of Mr John Wilson, ot "Downshire" Lauder was married to Mr M- McCubbin. Mr Tom* Herd, a resident of Clyde of only a few months, and one who has earned the respect and esteem of all shades of the community, was married in Dunedin last week- He and his bride are now settled down in, their new home at Clyde.
