Footballers will regret to hear that the match Lowburn V Matakanui, which was to have been played at Clyde as a Hospital benefit has been abandoned Lowburn being unable to raise a team.

The Naseby Club is holding a, tournament on Saturday. Tuapeka journeyed to Ranfurly on Saturday in quest of the Topp Cup : but although not successful in their mission, had at least the satisfaction of making a draw of one of the best games seen in Central Otago this year. Conditions were ideal and the ground in excellent order. There was a big crowd of spectators. The general opinion was that Tuapeka were the better team, their back play at times being brilliant In the final stages, however, Maniototo were more than holding their own, The only score in the first spell was an unconverted try by Gordon. In the second spell George scored near the posts, and the try being converted gave Tuapeka a lead of 8 points. Maniototo's first try was awarded for illegal tackling. The ball had crossed Tuapeka's line and Pat Moran looked a certainty to get their first, when he was collared from behind. Tuapeka 8 Maniototo 3 From a line out about 5 yards from the visitors linej Eric Naylor jumped and secured the ball, sending out to Harry Glassford, that player scoring under the posts. Frank Donnelly converted making the score 8 all.
