* MAGISTRATE’S COURT, ALEXANDRA. (Before H. A. Young Esq., S.M. Monday 12th July. Woodhouse and Townsend charged with fighting in the public street were fined 40s each and costs. T. Rahill and J. Tohill charged with behaviour likely to cause a breach of the peace were convicted and fined 83 each with costs. A first offender charged with drunkenness was convicted and fined ss. A charge of theft of a quantity of iron and timber, which had been blown off the roof of a house near Alexandra, against a resident of the town v.as dismissed, the magistrate giving the defendant the benefit of the doubt.
