WELCOME TO CANADIANS.

Boer Fighting Strength.

Stern Kitchener.

(Received Dec. 8, 1 a.m.) London, Dec. 7. A great reception was accorded to the Canadian soldiers on their arrival here. They were shown the sights of the city, and invited to Parliament where Lord Lansdowne, the Duke of Argyle, the Earl of Aberdeen, and Mr Chamberlain delivered eulogiums. The Standard says the Boers claim that they have 20,000 fighting men, largely participating in the concerted movements southwards. Lord Kitchener has stopped paying the borghers for the hire of waggons till the Boer resistance has ceased.
