The total reserve of notes and bullion in the Bank of England has risen to £17,000,000, an increase of £1,900,000 during the week. The proportion of reserve to liability has advanced to 47 per cent. New Zealand securities. —The five per cent 10-40 loan has advanced by 10s to 103; the five per cent 1889 loan has advanced 20s to 105 ; the four and a half per cent 1879-1904 loan has advanced 10s to 100 \, ex-div.; tho four percent inscribed stock remains at 100. .
Colonial breadstuffs and tallow remain at last quotations. The quantity of wheat afloat is 1,810,000 quarters.
