SAFETY OF THE CHARLES EDWARD.
By telegrams received on. Saturday by the s.s. Airedale, which vessel arrived in the Mamikau on that day fiom Southern ports, we learn that the s.s. llangitoto, which arrived at Nelson on the 12th, exchanged signals with the p.s. Charles Edward, off Cape Far-well, the day previous. The cause of her detention was the breaking down of her engines, and being blown off the land. The Charles Edward was working towards Nelson under canvas, when the Eangitoto pasbed her.
