THE JEWELLERY ROBBERY.
In yesterday's paper we gave an account of the discovery of a robbery of jewellery that had taken place at the house of Mr. R. H. Stevenson, Great North Road. Since the robbery, detectives Ternahan and Murphy have been making active search to reoover the stolen property, and to trace the individuals who had been connected with the crime, either as perpetrators or receivers of the plunder. Last night they recovered a considerable portion of the jewellery, consisting of a silver watch, bracelet with locket attached, neoklet with locket attached, lady's gold chain, gold cross, four gold rings, one of them being a diamond. We mentioned in yesterday's paper the circumstances which led to the arrest of Richard Dawkini, and .the fact of jewellery having been found upon his person awakening suspicion that an extensive robbery had been committed. The astute detectives sought out persons who had been seen in company with the prisoner, and have apprehended four persons, samed Henry Goldsmith, James Bathurst, John Brown, and James Craig. The articles mentioned were found in possession of one or other of the abovenamed prisoners. The house had been entered by a back window, and the keys unfortunately left in the kitchen, -so that the burglars had easy access to all the rooms where the drawers and other receptacles were ransacked. (Some of the articles recovered had passed to four different persons. The prisoners will be brought before the Bench to-day.
