The stock and share market has been Bteady during the week, with a good demand for Bank •took, in which a good amount of business wiw done. Joint Stocks were sold early in the week at 111 and Hi, but have since changed hands at 11. Unions were quitted at late rates. Citys remain firm at 10£. Fish of all descriptions are dull of sale ,t unremunerative rates. Dried ling, at auction, brought only 3d ; lib. salmon, 13s 9d ; quarter sardinei, 5s 2d to 5s 3d. Recent arrivals <of kerosine have nearly all changed hands at 2s 2d to 2s 3d, and pricei are now a trifle firmer; but owing to heavy stocks in Melbourne, and the low rates ruling there, no material improvement can be expected. Castor oil is almost out of stock, and prices are nominal. Linseed is dull of sale. Oilmen*! stores continue to be forced off at auction atlow rates, but privately are held for an advance ; a few articles, of which atopks are light, command very full priceß. Liquors have an improving tendency ; bulk ale continues saleable at last week's rates ; bottled, of leading brands, commands 9a to 10s Sd ; porter, in. wood and .glass, is doll, and pricea without change.
