NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.
A General Government Gazette was published on Thursday, the 27bh ult., and contained harbour regulations for the several ports of entry in the province of Auckland j orders in Council defining Tauranga and Opotiki militia districts and warrants, calling out the militia of those districts for actual service ; appointment of warden for Southland goldfields ; board of medical officers under the MilitaryPensions Act, 1866 ; notice of issue of letters patent; proclamations relative to diseased cattle ; Lyttelton pilot and port regulations ; remarks on Manukau harbour by Thomas Wing, Pilot-master ; appointment of surveyors under the Native Lands Acb, 1865 ; militia and. Tolunteer appointments; Compensation Court notices ; correspondence relative to Melbourne Exhibition; statement of amount of liabilities and assets and of capital and profits of the banks of the colony of New Zealand for the quarter ended 30th June, 1866 ; return of value of imports and exports to and from the seven ports of New Zealand during the quarter ended 30th June, 1866 ; also return of the number, tonnage, and crews of vessels entered inwards »nd cleared outwards, during the same period. Another Gazette was published on the same day containing the following regulation :—: — "No message or communication relating to the Customs shall be transmitted by any officer or other person employed in working any telegraph line belonging to the New Zealand Government, or be allowed by him to be transmitted by such line, during any period which shall be specified iv any order from the Honorable the Commissioner of Customs, unless under the written aathority of the said Commissioner or of some person authoiised under his hand in that behalf."
