In the import markets to-day, business has not been characterised by much activity, and to the uncertainty created by the numerous changes in the tariff may be traced, in- a great measure, the complaints of dulnegs which have been bo prevalent for some time past. In the excitement prevailing to-day from the rejection of the bill, the delay in the arrival of the mail steamer has been completely lost sight of. In the market for breadstuff), trade is without any appearance of animation. Salea are trning, though quotations are maintained at £19 10s. to £20 10s. for Adelaide flour, country and town brands. Wheat is much wanted, and would readily realise 7s. 6d. to 7?. 9d- for Victorian, and Bs. for South Australian.
