MAURITIUS.

From Mauritius we have news to the 7th February. The Commercial Gazette repoitsps follows: — Since our last circular, prices for grey sugar have remained stationary, and sales have been without animation, sugars being scarce on the market. The abundant rains which w.e had during two months having stopped, work in the sugar-houses was resumed in order to finish the crop, but the quantity of sugar to be expected will not give rise to any important operation, and we anticipate that at the end of this crop the stock will be insignificant. Purchases for Australia have been active at a rise on preceding prices. Eleven ships have started or have been freighted for that destination, but purchases having now ceased, the prices we quote are for the moment nominal. The demand for Bombay has continued, but white sugars being rare, buyers have been obliged to take sugars of Nos. 13 to 15 at the prices quoted :—: — Yellow crystallised, 6 dollars 50 cents to 6 doHaro 75 cents ; very fine yellow, none ; jjgood to fine yellow, 6 dollars 25 cents to 6 dollars 50 cents ; middling yellow, 5 dollars 80 cents to 6 dollars ; very fine yellow syrup, 5 dollars 50 cents to 5 dols. 75 cents ; fine yellow syrup, 5 dollars to 4 dollatß 25 cents ; fine red syrup, 4 dollars 75 cents to 5 dols.; low to good red syrup, 4 dollarS-25 cents to 4 dols. 50 cents.
