SEARCH FOR CAMPER
HASTINGS, December 29. Campers at Clifton last night combined in a hunt over the hills for Air. W. .1. T. Ross, Hastings, who was missing from his camp but was found this morning not a great deal worse for an unusual experience. After lunch yesterday Mr. Ross decided to take a walk in the hills at the hack of the camp, but when he did not return for his evening meal it was feared that he had met with a mishap. Eventually it was decided, to send out search parties and the police were contacted. Constables Fnrqubarson and Ryan arrived to take charge of the search parties. An all-night search was made but without result. The search was continued early this morning and shortly after nine o’clock Mr. Ross was found in one of the shepherd's huts on Colonel Nelson’s property. In the course of his wanderings Air. Ross had slipped down a small gully. In doing so he ricked his back with the result that he was unable to get back to his camp. He managed to reach the shepherd’s hut, actually not a great distance from the camp. There he took refuge and waited till he was found.
