Social Security Architect LONDON, October 18. Sir William Beveridge has been elected to Parliament as a; Liberal ou a very large majority over his Independent opponent. at a by-election. Sir William is tho author of the famous British social plan against want and insecurity, which was the basis of the recent White Paper announcing the Government's social security proposals. lie enters Parliament in time to join the debate shortly to be held on those proposals.
