TWELVE GRIM WEEKS
British Empire Casualties LONDON, October 18. The Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Attlee, stated in the House of Commons that in the 12 weeks between D-day aud the end of August, the land and air services of the British Empire suffered more than 103,000 casualties, consisting of 20,795 killed, 63,000 wounded, and nearly 20,000 missing or taken prisoner.
