WOMAN KILLED BY TRAIN
An elderly woman whose name could not be ascertained last night, was killed outright when she ivas hit by Hie 5.47 p.m. Wellingtou-Pahnerston North train about: a mile and a half south of Levin, shortly after 8 o’clock last night. The driver saw a woman walking along the centre of the track toward the train, aud sounded the whistle, at' the same time applying the brakes. The woman kept on walking, however, and was struck by the locojnotive. The train was delayed about,2s minutes.
