OVER 7,500,000 TONS
War Material For Soviet (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, August 23. Official figures released by general headquarters of the Persia-Iraq Command show that more than 3,750,000 tons of war material have been delivered to the Russians through this command. _ From the initial deliveries of 25.500 tons, from September to December, 1911, the tonnage had risen to approximately 1,750,000 in the first half of this year. Tanks, guns, aeroplanes, trucks, food, ammunition, petrol, and oil made up a vast proportion of the tonnage so far delivered. 1 The official estimate is that nearly 50 per cent, of the total aid to Russia given by Britain, Canada, and the United Stales has gone via the Persia-Iraq Command. and indicates that a total of more I han 7,500,000 tons of materia] have been delivered by the Allies in aid of Russia’s sweeping successes against the Germans on the eastern front.
