Officer Matheson, after training In New Zealand, went to Canada nearly two years ago. AU his service was in heavy aircraft, and nt the time of his death he was. as bombaimer and co-pilot, a member of the senior air crew on his station. He was the only New Zealander In this erew. He was awarded the Path Finder Force Badge of the R.A.r. this year. His only brother is a prisoner of war in Germany having been wounded on Crete ml years neo Pilot Officer Matheson belonged to the Wellington Operatic Society and in the early stages of the war was one of the Camr» Entertainers’ concert party. His wife resides nt Rintoul -Street. Wellington.
