Dominion Council Meets
The annual meeting of the Dominion council of Women's Institutes was held at Lower Hutt, on Wednesday and lliursdav of last week, Mrs. IT. Barmcoat. Dominion president, welcoming all members. Her Excellency Lady Neivnll, attended by Miss Nora Walton, was present on Thursday afternoon and spoke of the work of the members of the women's institutes in England which had been brought before her Excellency during her recent visit to England. Mr. J. E. Thomas, rationing officer, explained points that, were in doubt and all present expressed their willingness to stand behind the Rationing Controller. One of the principal subjects discussed was the allocation of the subscription between the Dominion federation, district federations and the institutes. Many helpful suggestions were given b.v councillors in respect -of home helpers, for countrywomen. The voluntary organizeis met on Wednesday night. It was felt that much progress was made at. the meeting iu furthering theaims and objects of the movement.
