COUNTRY PARTY AND WAR COUNCIL
CANBERRA, February 19. The Country Party has decided not to leave the Australian Advisory War Countil. The junior United Australia Party member of the council, Mr. Spender, may defy his party’s instruction to resign. This would probably result in his expulsion from the party. He would then revert to his original position as an Independent member. The Leader of the Opposition, Sir. Menzies, and the Deputy Leader of the U.A.P., Mr. Hughes, have already resigned from the council.
