Control In Terminal Areas Under the Agricultural Products (Railway Transportation) Emergency Regulations, 1944, gazetted this week, any area may be declared a terminal area tor the purpose o£ the regulations.. Within such declared area a committee, of four members shall act to co-ordinate and direct the receipt, carriage and delivery of agricultural products.carried or intended for carriage by rail to destinations within the terminal area, and to co-ordinate the movement of such products by rail with ocean shipping. Such committees are designed to collaborate with road transport control committees, ■and with cargo control committees. The first such area declared is around Christchurch between Addington and Lyttelton to facilitate transportation "of Canterbury grain nt the peak, season and to ensure a quick turnround of railway wagons.
