SWIMMING SEASON

Wellington Baths Revenue

Shows Increase

Though the summer has been variable meteorologically, it has, on the whole, been a good swimming season. The spell, of hot weather which lasted from midDecember till the end of January induced large atteudances in the Wellington baths and to Oriental Bay, the one open beach within easy reach of the city. In the case of the four municipal baths and the beach mentioned, the financial returns for the quarter ended January 31 are appreciably ahead of the corresponding period of a year ago, the returns having been bettered by as much as A2lO. The official figures for November. December and January in 1942-43 and 194344- respectively are as follows: — 1942-43. 1943-44.
