Wellington Team To Play Tank Brigade The' sole selector for the Wellington Rugby' Union, Air. A. McDonald, has chosen the following fifteen to represent Wellington against the New Zealand Army Tank Brigade team at Athletic Park, Wellington, on Saturday next:— ' Full-back: S. W. Clark (Air Force). Three-quarters: D. G. Stevenson (Army), E. Donovan (Army), H. Hodson (Petone). Five-eighths: B. Hayes (PonekeOriental). G. Stott (A.S.C.). Half aback: H. K. Johns (PonekeOrienial). , „ Forwards: R. White (Petone), P. Stanaway (Marlst Brothers’ Old Boys), P. Murphy (University), J. 'Brownlie (A.A. Battery), F. Foley (Marist Brothers,’ Old Boys), P, Baumber (Eastbourne), S. Bills (Petone). S. J. Harvey (A.A. Battery). Reserves: Backs, D. Patrick (University), S, Jaegar (Petone), B. Morrison (Athletic); forwards, R. Illingworth (Wellington), D. Beard (Wellington College Old Boys), A. F. Bramley (Hutt). White will cantala the team, and will play at the back of the scrum, and Donovan Will be deputy-captain. Brownlie and Foley will be the locks. The team will practise at the Poneke club’s gymnasium at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday. It is a strong one, but will have to be at its best to withstand the strong Tank combination, which beat Manawatu by 11 points to nil. The Tank forwards are big fellows, and are hard t<? hold in scrums and rucks. Behind them are a speedy set of .backs, with Saxton and Manion at. five-eighths, Sullivan, Elkis, and Rosenfelt on the threequarter line, and Johns (Taranaki) at funbnTh'e Tank team have already bad ■ matches against Auckland, Manawatu and Hawke’s By. and therefore will fine an advantage over Wellington in cotnbina tlon, as tbo Wellington fifteen have not yet had a game together this season.
