Y.M.C.A. Ladies’ Auxiliary

The annual meeting of the Y.M.C.A. ladles’ auxiliary was held recently. Mrs. H. W. Kersley, hon. life president, occupied the chair in the absence of Mrs. R. H. Nimmo, and a welcome was extended to representatives of the boys division auxiliary and members of the board of directors. The annual report and balance-sheet showed that 1941 had been a very satisfactory year. An interesting report was read from Mrs. Young, war service secretary, on the Sunday soldiers’ teas held at the Y.M.C.A., and appreciation w'as expressed to the various organizations who have so kindly assisted the ladies’ auxiliary in acting as hostesses at these teas, and creating the real home atmophere for men of the forces. Mr. G. Scott, representing the board of directors, spoke in appreciation of the women’s work. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mrs. R. H. Nimmo; vice-presidents, Mesdames Hall, Stuart and Greenberg; hon. secretary, Miss L. Finlay: assistant hon. secretary, Mrs. A. Downier; war service secretary, Mrs. 11. Young; hon. treasurer, Mrs. Hannah; card secretary, Mrs. Hill; optimist helpers, Mrs. Meyer; executive, Mesdames Vernon Staples,, Maunder, Hiadle, and King. Floral posies, artistically arranged by Mrs. Ironside, were presented to the officers at the conclusion of the meeting.
