A CROWDED MEETING

French Club’s Programme

A picturesque and charming play, “Ges dames aux chapeaux verts,” was presented by Mrs. R. Finlayson at a crowded meeting of the French Club in 'Wellington recently. Mrs. Craig Mackenzie, Miss Coralie Smythson, Miss Margaret McLay and Miss Frances Huntington played the parts of four old-maid sisters living in a provincial town whose lives are changed by the arrival of their young cousin from Paris (Mrs. Finlayson). Other roles were played by Professor F. Wood, Dr. A. O. Keys, Professor J. Boyd-Wilson, Dr. Carbery and Miss Dorothy Patterson. Mr. G. Wilson, accompanied by Mrs. A. C. Keys, sang three songs and Professor F. F- Miles, who presided, gave a short introduction to the play. Mrs. du Chateau and Miss A. Finlayson were hostesses; Miss Wilton and Miss Bowdidge arranged the supper and Mrs Lunjevich directed the conversation class.
