Retail Motor Trade’s Appreciation
'file resignation of Mr. J. F. Cousins as general secretary of the New Zealand Retail Motor Trade Association as from July 31 has been accepted by the New Zealand council of the association.
The council placed on record its high appreciation of the services rendered by Mr. Cousins to the whole of the motor industry during the 24 years in which he has held the position of general secretary.
Mr. Cousins assu'med office on January 1. 1918, toward the close of the last, war. and has throughout the intervening years exercised great ability, judgment, and tact in the great development of the industry which has taken place during the last 24 years, says a resolution adopted by the meeting. “It is recognized by all that the motor industry today is one of the principal factors in the economic life of the Dominion and we feel that Mr. Cousins can look back with great satisfaction on the part he has played in bringing the industry to its present high state of efficiency.”
Mr. Cousins was granted six months’ leave on full pay from August 1, 1941.
