“MERRIE ENGLAND”
Cast For Choral Union’s Performance Good progress is being made with the rehearsals of Edward German’s light opera, ‘'Merrie England,’’ which is to be performed in concert form by the Boyal Wellington Choral Union at the Town Hall on Saturday, April 19. The committee has made the following cast of characters: —Bessir Throgmorton (soprano), Miss Gwen Greenwood; “Jill-All-Alone” and Queen Elizabeth (contralto), Miss Connie Lee; Sir Walter Raleigh (tenor), Mr. Owen Bonifant; the Earl of Essex (baritone), Mr. Ken Macaulay. The performance is to be given for the patriotic funds.
