(Received March 4, 11 p.m.) TOKIO, March 3,
The Saigon correspondent of “AsahiShimbun” says that increasing French hostility against the Japanese reached a climax when four French officers assaulted four Japanese at the Saigon Palace Hotel oi* Sunday evening Plain-clothes police and French specta-.. tors aided the officers and inflicted heavy injuries on the Japanese. The Japanese Consul, Mr. Takashima, on Monday protested to the French Governor.
