MOVIE QUEEN SUPPORTERS ACTIVE
Movie Queen supporters aye making full use of their week’s tenancy of the air-raid shelter with loudspeaker, music, games and various commodities for sale. A brand new electric stove is on show at the kerb to tempt passersby to wager a shilling in the art union. On the corner of the street is a miniature Paddy’s Market offering vegetables, flowers, trinkets, books and sundry odds .and ends for sale. Vociferous “spruikers” incite the crowd to unburden their pockets and altogether the scene is lively mid colourful. In the background- the sand-bagged shelter serves as a reminder of the purpose of all this activity. There is ample evidence that the “Movie” organization is vocal and energetic.
